Maria Lai and Stefano Boeri Dialogue at Stazione dell'Arte in Ulassai
The Stazione dell'Arte in Ulassai presents 'Sii albero', an exhibition exploring the dialogue between artist Maria Lai and architect Stefano Boeri, running until September 19. Organized with support from the Region and Municipality, the show highlights their shared focus on human-nature relationships and eco-responsibility. The exhibition is divided into three sections: a scale model of Boeri's Bosco Verticale in the new project room 'Casa delle Janas'; in the park, Lai's sculpture 'Fiabe intrecciate. Omaggio a Gramsci' (2007) and Boeri's micro-architecture 'Radura degli abbracci' (2017); and in the former train depot, a screening of the short film 'Troiane', directed by Stefano Santamato and produced by Paolo Soravia / The Blink Fish for Stefano Boeri Architetti, which won the Venice Architecture Short Film Festival 2020. The film follows the journey of trees from the Vaia forest in Friuli, devastated by a storm in October 2018, to the set of Euripides' 'Troiane' in Syracuse in 2019. The exhibition concludes with sketches, photographs, and documentation of Boeri's 'Radura' installations worldwide, including 'Radura della memoria' in Genoa, created after the Morandi Bridge collapse in August 2018, a 50-meter-diameter wooden podium with 43 tree species representing the 43 victims.
