Mari Nagem's immersive installation at CUE Art explores climate and space

CUE Art is hosting 'The Tropics, The Moon, and Mars,' a solo show by Brazilian artist Mari Nagem, based in Brooklyn. This exhibition is open at 137 W. 25th Street until September 26, 2026. Nagem's immersive installation merges light, sound, sculpture, painting, and digital elements to create a post-natural tropical setting, where heat transforms the interactions between bodies, technologies, geological structures, and ecosystems. The tropics are portrayed as a climate, a home, and a vision—an experienced geography influenced by extraction, ecological change, and external perceptions. The exhibition posits that while humanity aspires to interplanetary existence, it struggles to coexist with earthly ecologies. Gallery admission is free during hours (Wed–Sat, 12–6 pm) and does not require reservations.
