Mare Karina Gallery in Venice Hosts Bruno Alfieri Retrospective and Contemporary Painting Show at Trattoria da Jonny

The Mare Karina gallery in Venice is currently hosting two exhibitions: a retrospective dedicated to Bruno Alfieri's publishing achievements and a contemporary painting display at Trattoria da Jonny. The retrospective, titled 'Bruno Alfieri. Editoria e riviste per le arti e l'architettura contemporanee,' is curated by Chiara Carrera and Mario Lupano, highlighting Alfieri's impact on art publishing from 1948 to 1973, including the establishment of magazines such as Quadrum (1956) and Zodiac (1957). This exhibition includes catalogs and correspondence, showcasing Alfieri's philosophy of appreciating beauty without elitism. Founder Marta Barina mentions that it took a year to compile the archive. The second exhibition, '(di)Fronte,' curated by Barina and Anna Zecchetto, displays works from fourteen Venetian artists, merging historical narratives with modern art.
