Marcos Amaro Reopens FAMA Museum with Tarsila do Amaral Exhibition After Pandemic Closure
On November 14, the Fábrica de Arte Marcos Amaro (FAMA) in Itu, São Paulo, welcomed visitors again after being closed for eight months due to the pandemic. The reopening features three exhibitions: 'Tarsila do Amaral – Estudos e Anotações', the group show 'Ontologias' showcasing works by Cabral, André Albuquerque (Kandro), and Marcos Amaro, and a solo exhibition titled 'Rejeito' by Marcelo Moscheta. The Tarsila exhibition, curated by Aracy Amaral and Regina Teixeira de Barros, had been delayed since March 2020. Founded in 2018, FAMA is a private non-profit housing approximately 2,000 pieces from Amaro's collection. Marcos Amaro, 36, highlighted the museum's commitment to education and expressed concern over the insufficient state support for culture in Brazil.
