Marcos Amaro Presents 'Desconstruções e articulações' at MARGS Through February 2019

The Museu de Arte do Rio Grande do Sul (MARGS) is presenting the exhibition 'Desconstruções e articulações' by artist Marcos Amaro until February 17, 2019. Curated by Fábio Magalhães, the show features large-scale sculptures created from disassembled airplanes and other discarded materials, recontextualizing objects that have lost their primary function. Amaro, who is also president of the Fundação Marcos Amaro, imbues these fragments with new meanings while preserving their historical memory. The exhibition is part of an itinerant project exploring themes of time and transformation. MARGS, one of the most important cultural institutions in its state, holds a collection of over 3,660 artworks spanning from the early 19th century to the present, with an emphasis on local artists. Curator Fábio Magalhães, known for his work in painting that emerges from psychic conditions and personal imagination, employs a creative method that begins with photography and materializes in paint.
