Marco Raparelli Illustrates 'Lezioni di Cinema' on RaiPlay, Exhibition at Cineteca Bologna
Rai Cultura's new program 'Lezioni di Cinema' is now available on RaiPlay, consisting of 22 episodes each dedicated to a different film genre, its authors, and topics such as black and white, color, and festivals, including the beloved and hated Cinepanettoni. The series is presented by journalist and film critic Paolo Mereghetti, with animated illustrations by contemporary artist Marco Raparelli (born Rome, 1975). Raparelli's drawings poetically and ironically depict all aspects of filmmaking, from behind-the-scenes to the roles of director and crew, to shooting locations and audiences. These illustrations also feature in the exhibition 'Cinema. Cinema amore mio!' at the Cineteca di Bologna, curated by Ex Elettrofonica, as part of Art City Bologna 2024 (January 29 to February 5, 2024). Raparelli describes his approach as using drawing as his main language, freely and extemporaneously interpreting the narration.
