Marco Papa's Gondola and Mike Tyson Bronze at Favignana Tuna Factory

The Ex Tonnara Florio di Favignana, a former tuna fishery in Sicily, hosts Marco Papa's retrospective 'Disegno realtà/Drawing reality' (b. Ancona, 1973). The centerpiece is 'Meta Gondola Fisica Redentore', a carbon-fiber gondola containing a bronze figure of Mike Tyson crouching like Rodin's 'The Thinker', creating a metaphysical space. Another work, 'Black Gene', features a performance mimicking Leroy Johnson's dance from 'Fame', a piece developed from Papa's encounter with the actor in his final months. The exhibition juxtaposes industrial heritage with contemporary art, exploring material and evocative power.
