Marco Neri Wins First Edition of Premio Osvaldo Licini
Marco Neri has been awarded the first Premio Osvaldo Licini, recognizing his ties to Licini's artistic heritage and unique visual style. Neri, who hails from Forlì and was born in 1968, studied at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Bologna, starting his exhibition career in the 1980s. He showcased his work at the 49th Venice Biennale in 2001, where he displayed flags on the Giardini facade. His artistic range includes figuration, architectural abstraction, and futuristic landscapes, often utilizing bichromy. Neri has taught at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Lecce and worked with various galleries. His award exhibition, curated by Alessandro Zechini and supported by Fainplast, will open on December 4, 2021, at Galleria d’Arte Contemporanea Osvaldo Licini, featuring over 40 works, including 12 new pieces, and will be on view until February 27, 2022.
