Marco Mengoni and Madame's Music Video Pays Homage to Ettore Sottsass and Franz Erhard Walther

Marco Mengoni and Madame have released a music video for their single "Mi fiderò" that draws inspiration from architect and designer Ettore Sottsass and visual artist Franz Erhard Walther. The song, which quickly became the most-played track on Italian radio, is taken from Mengoni's album "Materia (Terra)" released on December 3. The video, directed by Roberto Ortu, features actor Vincenzo Crea as Mengoni's alter ego. It was filmed at the Nuovo Corviale housing complex on the outskirts of Rome, a monolithic concrete structure. The narrative follows the protagonist escaping constraints to find freedom in a desert, where he must build his own space from nothing. The video references Sottsass's concept of a "room within a room" and Walther's wearable sculptures. Mengoni and Ortu stated that the video is based on the act of design as an act of trust and a leap into the present. Madame, who co-wrote her part spontaneously, adds her distinctive touch to the track. The video continues Mengoni's trend of art-inspired visuals, following his previous work set at Palazzo Madama in Turin and his participation in Supersalone in Milan.
