Marco Fusinato to Perform Noise Installation for Australia at 2022 Venice Biennale
Australia will be represented by Marco Fusinato at the 59th Venice Biennale with his experimental noise initiative, DESASTRES, running from 23 April to 27 November 2022. This installation will showcase a solo performance where Fusinato uses an electric guitar as a signal generator to produce noise and visuals drawn from online sources. He is set to perform for 200 days at the Australian pavilion located in the Giardini. Describing the project as themeless, he invites audience interpretation and humorously remarked on the Biennale's significance by saying, 'Because of Disneyland.' Fusinato had previously contributed to the 2015 Biennale with a project featuring 10,000 books and is eager to visit his family's inactive house near the Dolomites, roughly 100 kilometers from Venice.
