Marco Fusinato's Noise-Filled 'The Only True Anarchy Is That of Power' at PAC Milan

exhibition · 2026-04-07

The Padiglione d'Arte Contemporanea (PAC) in Milan presents Marco Fusinato's solo exhibition 'The Only True Anarchy Is That of Power,' curated by Diego Sileo. The show, open until June 7, 2026, brings together three ongoing projects that explore noise as both a visual and sonic medium. Central to the exhibition is 'DESASTRES,' a monumental performance-installation first shown at the 59th Venice Biennale in 2022, where Fusinato represented Australia. The work has since been staged at Berlin Atonal and Unsound Krakow, featuring a continuous stream of randomized sounds and images, improvised noise, saturated feedback, and spontaneous photography. Fusinato, born in Melbourne in 1964, uses electric guitars, mass amplification, and intense feedback to treat noise not as disturbance but as raw compositional material. His installations create a total sensory experience where sound and image disorient and astonish. The exhibition also includes works previously shown at the São Paulo Biennial, Sydney Biennale, and MoMA New York's 'Soundings' exhibition. Fusinato continues to perform solo in galleries, museums, theaters, and festivals worldwide.
