Marco Dallari's FilosofArte series teaches philosophy to children through art

publication · 2026-05-04

Marco Dallari launches FilosofArte, a new book series by Artebambini that introduces philosophy to children through art. The first volume, 'Cos'è l'intenzionalità?', uses works by Osvaldo Licini and illustrations by Jole Savino to explore intentionality. Dallari, with co-editors Paola Ciarcià and Stefano Moriggi, argues that combining high-quality images with narrative is more effective than text alone, especially in an age of iconic turn. The series aims to foster philosophical practice rather than history of philosophy. The book was tested at the Collezione Guggenheim in Venice during a Licini retrospective. The second volume, on machines and ethics, features Jean Tinguely's art and Alan Turing's philosophy, written by Mauro Speraggi. A third volume on freedom with Paul Klee is in preparation.
