Marco Biscione, born in Rome in 1958, has been selected as the director of M9, the ambitious museum project by Fondazione Venezia in Mestre, which cost over €110 million and is set to open in December 2018. He directed the Civic Museums of Udine from 2010 to 2014 and was appointed director of the MAO, the Museum of Oriental Art in Turin, in 2015. The director's responsibilities will range from building programming to coordinating and monitoring all activities, ensuring high standards in management, communication, educational innovation, and technology, and fostering active user participation.
