March 2026's Global Art Highlights: Biennials, Screenings, and New Museum Openings
The 25th Biennale of Sydney, titled 'Rememory' and curated by Hoor Al Qasimi, is scheduled from 14 March to 14 June, featuring artists such as Behrouz Boochani and Emily Jacir. From 23 March to 21 June, Shahzia Sikander's film '3 to 12 Nautical Miles' will be shown in Hong Kong. Zheng Mahler's 'Mushroom Clouds' will be exhibited at PHD Group from 21 March until May. The Whitney Biennial 2026, curated by Marcela Guerrero and Drew Sawyer, is set to open on 8 March and run until 23 August, showcasing 56 artists. Additionally, 'New Humans: Memories of the Future' at the New Museum from 21 March will feature over 200 artists. The March Meeting 2026 by the Sharjah Art Foundation has been postponed. Hamburger Bahnhof's 'Sabotage' will continue until 13 September, while CCA Tashkent's 'Hikmah' opens on 21 March and runs through 30 June. Anna Maria Maiolino's 'Poetic Earth' at MAAT Lisbon will be available from 25 March to 31 August.
