Marcello Smarrelli on the Turning Point of His Career: Curating Fuori Uso 2003
In a conversation with ArtsLife, Marcello Smarrelli, an Italian art historian, reminisces about his experience curating the 14th edition of Fuori Uso in Pescara in 2003, a significant milestone in his professional journey. Presently, he serves as the artistic director for both Fondazione Ermanno Casoli and Fondazione Pastificio Cerere, while also curating at Fondazione Memmo Arte Contemporanea. Alongside Charlotte Laubard, Chiara Parisi, and Alessandro Rabottini, he co-curated the exhibition GREAT EXPECTATIONS, which showcased international artists and prominent works, including a dedicated room for Paul Tek and the debut of Tino Sehgal in Italy.
