Marcello Morandini: Atypical Catalogue Raisonné Published by Skira

Marco Meneguzzo curated an unconventional catalogue raisonné on Marcello Morandini (born Mantua, 1940), published by Skira in 2020. The book follows Morandini's concept of 'project,' tracing single forms through material and dimensional mutations over time, rather than chronological order. Morandini is linked to Concrete Art, particularly the ideas of Max Bill and Richard Paul Lohse, rather than the Italian MAC movement. His imagery is predominantly black and white to avoid distraction and focus on form. The catalogue is not a general catalogue but a reasoned one, allowing collectors to follow the artist's work in progress. Meneguzzo will also serve as guest curator at Villa Zanotti, the Morandini Foundation in Varese, opening in spring. The 536-page volume costs €150.
