Marcello Maloberti to Lead Performance Workshop at Museo del Novecento for Furla Series

Marcello Maloberti will conduct a performance workshop at the Museo del Novecento in Milan on March 28-29, 2018, organized by Fondazione Furla under the artistic direction of Bruna Roccasalva and Vincenzo de Bellis. The workshop seeks 15 young artists to create performances in dialogue with the museum's collection, including works by Futurists, Morandi, De Chirico, Martini, and Fontana. Rehearsals in the Fontana room will be open to the public, functioning as performances within the performance. Maloberti, who has taught for 25 years, currently holds the chair of Visual Arts at NABA in Milan, where he has taught since meeting Marco Scotini and Andris Brinkmanis. He cites his former teacher Luciano Fabro as a major influence. Maloberti describes his teaching method as inspired by Fabro's dialogic approach and emphasizes working on personal obsessions. He views performance as a collective body and stresses the importance of resistance, ambition, and study for artists. He mentions numerous former and current students, including Davide Allieri, Serena Porrati, Ian Tweedy, Alice Ronchi, and others. A book titled 'Non so se mi capite' based on his lessons will be published.
