Marcel Dinahet's Watery Works Span London, Paris, and Saint-Ouen
Marcel Dinahet, known for underwater installations, presents videos and sound works across multiple venues this winter. At Galerie Domobaal in London, 'Ciel marin' hangs above the staircase alongside video portraits of a dancer submerged in water. At Abbaye de Maubuisson in Saint-Ouen-l'Aumône, installations reference the springs that led to the Cistercian abbey's construction, with shrimp emerging from sand and water sounds filling the camera. Large portraits of Pontoise residents stare silently. In Pantin, 'Fleuve' (2009) shows post-industrial banks of the Canal de l'Ourcq. At Galerie Les Filles du calvaire in Paris, 'Kaliningrad' (filmed during a residency in the Russian military port) and 'Falaises' (produced on Ouessant island) are shown. A monograph is published by Éditions Liénart.
