Marc Spiegler joins Superblue board amid immersive art sector challenges
Marc Spiegler, who previously served as the global director of Art Basel, has been appointed to the board of Superblue, an experiential art center established in 2020. His introduction to the organization came through Mikolaj Sekutowicz, CEO of Therme Art, where Spiegler provides guidance on major projects. After leaving Art Basel in December 2022, he was succeeded by Noah Horowitz, having managed the fair's recovery from the pandemic and the launch of Paris+ by Art Basel. Superblue has encountered challenges, particularly with cofounder Marc Glimcher and Laurene Powell Jobs's Emerson Collective withdrawing from the board. Mollie Dent-Brocklehurst will take on the role of chief creative officer. Despite the sector's difficulties, including Lighthouse Immersive's Chapter 15 bankruptcy last month, Spiegler remains optimistic about Superblue's future.
