Marc Minkowski Named Music Director of Boston Baroque
Boston Baroque, one of America's oldest period-instrument orchestras, has appointed Marc Minkowski as its second-ever music director. Founded in 1973 by harpsichordist and conductor Martin Pearlman, the ensemble saw Pearlman step down as artistic director last year. Minkowski, who founded Les Musiciens du Louvre in France in 1982, brings an extensive discography with that ensemble. He will assume the role starting this coming season.
