Marc Couturier’s Spiritual Journey at Brou Monastery

The exhibition titled '… et le marais sanglote,' featuring the work of Marc Couturier, is being held at the Royal Monastery of Brou in Bourg-en-Bresse from October 15, 2005, to January 15, 2006. This title alludes to Edgar Quinet’s text from 1967 regarding the monastery. Couturier’s installation explores the romantic narrative of Margaret of Austria and Philibert the Fair, highlighted by their tombs. Notable pieces include 'Dessin du troisième jour' (1995), 'Barque de Saône' (2002), and six works titled 'Flaques d'eau aquarellée' (2005). The motif of reflection is evident in 'Miroirs argenté et doré' (2005). The display also features 498 'Lavis' (2005), eleven 'Lames' (1987–2000), and 'Dessins de sommeil ou d'évanouissements' (2005).
