artist · 2026-04-20

Born in Paris in 1947 and later raised in England, Marc Camille Chaimowicz is known for his diverse creations in installation, performance, furniture design, and painting, with a strong emphasis on gender fluidity and personal narrative. Real Life Revisited (2000-2002) and showcased at Cabinet Gallery and other museums. At Tate Britain, Partial Eclipse… (1980–2006) addresses themes of gender blending. Recently, he curated Jean Genet… The Courtesy of Objects at Nottingham Contemporary, featuring pieces inspired by Genet's The Maids.
