Marc-Antoine Barrois Opens New Soho Boutique at 120 Wooster Street

Marc-Antoine Barrois has opened a new boutique at 120 Wooster Street in Manhattan's Soho. The store, designed in collaboration with Antoine Bouillot, features perfumes on ovular polished wood pedestals, a Ready-to-Wear area with giant ant sculptures, and a couture fitting room with a concert hall-style piano. The space includes a custom-designed carpet referencing rivers and a ribbon-like railing. Barrois launched his brand in 2009 with made-to-measure couture and white shirts, then introduced his first perfume, B683, in 2016. In 2019, all fragrances were reformulated to remove UV filters and preservatives. The boutique also displays work by French painter Silvère Jarrosson and cartoon sketches from "The Worlds of Aldebaran" by Léo. The main floor dressing area is decorated by artist/designer Katie Heaton with a sapphire maximalist theme featuring a theater mural and birdhouse-like sculptures. Barrois cites Versailles as an early influence and describes the store as an invitation to leave the 21st century and enter his creative universe.
