Marangoni Students Collaborate with Moroso on New Domestic Narratives

Istituto Marangoni in Milan presented the project 'Moroso. New Domestic Narratives,' a collaboration between Master's students in Product & Furniture Design and the Italian design company Moroso. The exhibition title references 'narrative design,' a term coined by the late Alessandro Mendini, emphasizing objects that engage emotional, sensory, and pragmatic spheres. The works respond to the post-pandemic home, which now serves as office, leisure space, and sanctuary. Students were guided by designer Elena Salmistraro, Art Director & Brand Ambassador of Moroso. Art Director Patrizia Moroso praised the projects' free imagination and optimistic vision of the future, breaking away from traditional bourgeois home concepts. Featured works include 'Loop' by Alice Ballabio, inspired by quantum theory; 'Phygital' by Riccardo Cioffi, referencing digital graphics; 'Hug' by Bianca Ferretti, with curved soft forms; 'Saudade' by Mariana Gomes Prestes, inspired by the Portuguese word for nostalgia; 'Mood' by Lourdes Castro, influenced by lunar effects on mood; and 'Cretto' by Silvio Pompei, a sofa that changes texture over time to represent accumulated value.
