Mara Servetto on the Future of Museums and the 'Museum Seed' Book
Ico Migliore and Mara Servetto, both architects, have released a bilingual book titled 'Museum Seed. The Futurability of Cultural Places' (Electa, 2024), which articulates their vision for the museums of tomorrow. This volume includes an eight-point manifesto for the concept of the 'augmented museum' and features insights from global experts. It showcases visuals of their projects, such as the Natural History Museum of Milan and The Human Safety Net in Venice. Since its establishment in 1997, their studio has completed over 800 projects across 21 countries, promoting the fusion of digital and physical experiences. The book was inspired by a conference in Seoul, organized with the help of the Italian Cultural Institute. They are also engaged in revitalizing the former Expo 2015 site in Milan and developing a campus in Tokyo.
