MAR Receives Funding and Hosts Exhibitions During ArtRio 2022 Week in Rio de Janeiro

During the week of ArtRio 2022 in Rio de Janeiro, the Museu de Arte do Rio (MAR) was a key destination. The museum secured a transfer of R$ 451,000 to ensure its operations through the end of the year. Concurrently, MAR presented a solo exhibition by artist Jarbas Lopes and the show "Enciclopédia Negra." Another highlight in the city was Maxwell Alexandre's exhibition "Pardo é Papel," described as portraying the epic grandeur of a people in formation. The International Committee for Museums published a letter in defense of MAR. These events were part of broader art highlights in Brazil noted from 2018.
