Manzar exhibition at National Museum of Qatar surveys 80 years of Pakistani art and architecture

In Doha, the National Museum of Qatar is showcasing 'Manzar: Art and Architecture from Pakistan 1940s to Today,' which will be on display until January 31. This exhibition encompasses more than 200 pieces created by over 60 artists and 15 architects, organized into 13 sections. Highlights include Ali Kazim's 'The Conference of Birds' and Salima Hashmi's map painting depicting Partition. Architectural highlights feature Yasmeen Lari's zero-carbon shelters, alongside modernists Nayyar Ali Dada and Habib Fida Ali. The exhibition also incorporates archival materials reflecting Pakistan's sociopolitical landscape. Featured artists include Zubeida Agha, Sadequain, Shahzia Sikander, and Salman Toor. Additionally, Mariah Lookman's 2024 film 'Behrupiya' reinterprets footage of Sadequain. This initiative is part of Qatar Museums' outreach to the 300,000 Pakistani residents in Qatar.
