Mantova Light Art Biennale Goes Online with Virtual Tour

The Biennale Light Art di Mantova, closed to the public due to pandemic restrictions, is now accessible online via a Virtual Tour on biennalelightart.it. The exhibition, curated by art critic Vittorio Erlindo, is hosted at Casa di Andrea Mantegna, a monumental Renaissance building designed by Andrea Mantegna and the main exhibition venue of the province of Mantua. The Biennale's challenge is to juxtapose contemporary light installations with the historic Renaissance palace. Titled "Elogio della luce tra destrutturazione e ricostruzione degli spazi," the Biennale is divided into two sections: Light Art, curated by Vittorio Erlindo with 21 artists, and Black Light, curated by Gisella Gellini and Gaetano Corica, featuring works by 13 artists. Erlindo notes that the connection between art and scientific progress is evident through the use of luminous materials, opening new perspectives for both art and science.
