Mantello, Lane, Metcalf Reunite for Broadway's Death of a Salesman
In 1995, director Joe Mantello foresaw Nathan Lane starring in Arthur Miller's Death of a Salesman while casting him in Terrence McNally's Love! Valour! Compassion! Three decades later, that vision is realized as Lane plays Willy Loman opposite Laurie Metcalf as Linda in a new Broadway production. Mantello, Lane, and Metcalf are longtime colleagues and friends, which eases the collaborative process but does not diminish the pressure of tackling a classic. Mantello seeks a fresh approach to the iconic play.
