Manon Benoit's pølaire Ceramics Evoke Melting Polar Landscapes

Designer Manon Benoit, under the studio louve., has created pølaire, a series of sculptural stoneware ceramics inspired by erosion, melting ice, and fractured polar landscapes. The collection uses cracked textures, uneven edges, and layered surface treatments to evoke fragility and gradual disappearance. Each hand-built object is formed through repetitive manual gestures, emphasizing slowness and accumulation. The pale tonal palette references frozen matter, while contrasts between smooth and rough surfaces suggest pressure and melting. Rather than depicting specific landscapes, the sculptures translate natural processes into tactile forms positioned between geological artifact and abstract art.
