Manolo Millares's Super 8 Films to Screen at TEA Tenerife
On April 30, 2026, TEA Tenerife Espacio de las Artes will host a lecture by art historian and filmmaker Guillermo G. Peydró titled "Eros y Tánatos: Manolo Millares cineasta." Before the talk, three Super 8 films by Manolo Millares will be screened: "Millares 1970" (1970), "Eros Taro" (1969), and the previously unseen short "Diciembre 68 enero" (1968), which will be shown for the first time. The event is part of the "Otro Millares" thought cycle, organized for the centenary of Millares's birth (Las Palmas, 1926–Madrid, 1972), aiming to critically reassess his legacy, particularly his use of historical discontinuity. Peydró, a professor of Audiovisual Communication at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid, has had his audiovisual essays screened at institutions like the Louvre, Museo Reina Sofía, and FID Marseille, and has programmed for festivals such as Punto de Vista and Documenta Madrid.
