Manifesta 15 Barcelona Closes with Nearly 200,000 Visitors

festival-fair · 2026-04-26

Manifesta 15 Barcelona concluded on November 24, 2024, drawing nearly 200,000 attendees despite facing logistical hurdles across twelve municipalities. The upcoming edition in 2026 is set to take place in Germany's Ruhr region, with Josep Bohigas appointed as the inaugural creative mediator. This biennial featured Focus Weeks filled with concerts, discussions, and exhibitions, including a mobile venue created by IAAC students. The last Focus Week, held from November 19–24 at Casa Gomis, centered on "balancing conflicts." Highlights included the debut of Arc d’Iris by La Fura dels Baus and a bike ride from the Llobregat to the Besós River. Five Italian artists presented works that explored female labor, resistance, and war through various installations and performances.
