MAN Nuoro 2024: Interspecies, Biocentrism, and Eco-Humanism
The Museo d’Arte di Nuoro (MAN) has unveiled its exhibition agenda for 2024, centering on themes such as interspecies relations, biocentrism, hybridization, and eco-humanism. Director Chiara Gatti reflected on the achievements of 2023, which included international partnerships, securing four tenders from the Italian Ministry, and engaging a younger demographic. Highlights from the past year featured an exhibition on the Potemkin Steps in Odessa, commended by the Ukrainian embassy, and accolades from Reina Sofia for a Guernica initiative. The year also showcased dialogues between Giotto and Fontana, as well as interactions between the Nuragic civilization and modern artists. Upcoming solo exhibitions will feature Christiane Löhr and Una Szeemann, while the permanent collection will be reconfigured as "Le affinità immaginate," alongside the "Diorama" exhibition addressing climate change. Public programming will encompass workshops and performances.
