MAMCO Geneva Opens Nine Simultaneous Exhibitions

exhibition · 2026-04-27

In Geneva, MAMCO has unveiled nine exhibitions aimed at reframing its collection and bringing attention to often overlooked artists. Director Lionel Bovier emphasizes the importance of rediscoveries, particularly focusing on female creators. One highlight is Tania Mouraud's solo exhibition 'Da capo,' curated by Sophie Costes, which features works such as 'We Used to Know' (1970) and 'SOYWHJTLAAF' (2023). Klára Kuchta showcases sculptures made from sisal and human hair, including 'Blond vénitien II' (1978). Shizuko Yoshikawa presents geometric pieces inspired by Max Bill, while Emma Reyes offers large botanical paintings. Additional artists include Hannah Villiger and Ilse Garnier. A space is also devoted to Alighiero Boetti's 'Estate '70' scroll, alongside the Glicksman donation and 'Récits de collection,' which highlights new acquisitions and contemporary art viewpoints.
