Mamadou Sellou Diallo's 'DOF! Perdre l'esprit' Staged at Avignon Festival

On July 17, 2026, 'Dof ! Perdre l'esprit' was presented at the Avignon Festival, featuring performances by actors Djénaé Segonds, Mamadou Sall, and Lysandre Akmese-Euillet. This play, penned by Senegalese writer Mamadou Sellou Diallo, explores the theme of madness through the experiences of two young individuals in a rehabilitation center. Directed by Armel Roussel, with contributions from Ruth Kouamé and sound design by Pierre-Alexandre Lampert, the production included students from École du Nord in Lille. Diallo, who teaches and conducts research at Gaston Berger University, oversees the Master's program in Cinema and Audiovisual Creation. The reading was part of the 'Ça va, ça va le monde !' series, backed by the Institut français du Sénégal and Villa Saint-Louis Ndar, and was aired on RFI.
