Malian photographer and activist Bouba Touré dies at 73

Malian photographer, filmmaker, and activist Bouba Touré has passed away. He was born in Tafacirga in 1948 and relocated to France in 1965, where he resided in the Foyer Pinel hostel and worked at the Chausson factory until 1969, when he transitioned to being a projectionist. Starting in the 1970s, he focused on documenting the experiences of migrant workers, co-founding the Cultural Association of African Workers in France in 1971 and the Somankidi Coura cooperative in 1977. His work was showcased globally, including exhibitions at the Centre Pompidou and the Dhaka Art Summit. In 2015, he released "Notre case est à Saint Denis" and collaborated with Raphaël Grisey on various projects, including the film "Xaraasi Xanne – Crossing Voices." His death was announced by Marco Scotini on social media.
