Major September 2024 Exhibitions Span Gwangju Biennale, Manifesta Barcelona, and Getty's PST ART
The 15th Gwangju Biennale, titled 'Pansori: A Soundscape of the 21st Century', will commence on 7 September 2024, under the curation of Nicolas Bourriaud, showcasing works by 72 artists from 30 nations, including Emeka Ogboh and Josèfa Ntjam. On 8 September 2024, Manifesta 15 will debut in Barcelona, featuring artist Korakrit Arunanondchai. The Getty Trust will present PST ART: Art & Science Collide from 15 September 2024 to 16 February 2025, with a budget of $20 million. Sylvie Hayes-Wallace’s 'Bleeding' will be exhibited at Silke Lindner, New York, from 6 September to 12 October 2024, while 'The Bamiyan Giant Buddhas' will be on display at Tokyo's Mitsui Memorial Museum from 14 September to 12 November 2024. 'Legacies: Asian American Art Movements' will take place at 80WSE from 11 September to 20 December 2024. The Forest Festival of the Arts Okayama is scheduled for 28 September to 24 November 2024, and Ayesha Sultana’s 'Fragility and Resilience' will be at Dubai's Ishara Art Foundation from 6 September to 7 December 2024. Geumhyung Jeong's 'Under Construction' will be featured at London’s ICA from 25 September to 15 December 2024. Additionally, 'Ancestral Treasures of Peru' will be touring from 4 September to 18 November 2024.
