exhibition · 2026-05-04

The Whitney Museum of American Art will host 'Andy Warhol—From A to B and Back Again,' the largest Warhol retrospective in the US since the 1989 MoMA show. Curated by Donna De Salvo, the exhibition spans 40 years of Warhol's career with 350 works, focusing on the 1970s and 1980s. After its New York run (November 12, 2018 – March 31, 2019), it will travel to the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art and the Art Institute of Chicago. The Vatican also announced a 2019 exhibition on Warhol's religious works at Braccio di Carlo Magno, in collaboration with The Andy Warhol Museum, marking 40 years since Warhol's meeting with Pope John Paul II.
