Majd Abdel Hamid's White-on-White Embroidery at Canvas

exhibition · 2026-04-23

Canvas presents 'On White', a solo exhibition of Majd Abdel Hamid's white-on-white embroidery works. Over the past decade, the artist has produced over a hundred pieces, each involving meticulous stitching of white thread onto white fabric, creating subtle textures and shadows that shift with light. The works are instinctual, non-representational, and distinct from his more figurative imagery. Shown together for the first time, they form a separate archive of his imagination. The exhibition is accompanied by a text by Saira Ansari. The works are on view at Grey Noise in Dubai, with an image of a work in progress from the artist's studio in Beirut, 2025.
