Maja Bojanić's Ghostly Installation 'Anatomy of a Haunting' at Moderna galerija Ljubljana
On 3 September 2026, at 19:00, 'Anatomy of a Haunting,' an installation by Maja Bojanić, will be unveiled at Moderna galerija Ljubljana as part of the Draught exhibition series curated by Kristjan Sedej. This work, which builds upon Bojanić's 2025 film, employs ghost metaphors to investigate themes of societal erasure. It consists of four narrative acts influenced by 19th-century phantasmagoria, highlighting the experiences of those marginalized in recent Slovenian history. The installation also incorporates philosophical perspectives and personal testimonies related to erasure. Born in 1997, Bojanić is an intermedia artist with a focus on invisibility, holding a sculpture degree from ALUO Ljubljana and a master's in TransArts from the University of Applied Arts Vienna. She has exhibited extensively and was nominated for the OHO Young Visual Artist Award in both 2023 and 2024.
