Maison Michel's Hat-Making Artistry on Display at le19M

The Galerie du 19M in Paris is hosting 'Metamorfosis: los sombreros de Maison Michel' from September 23 to December 13, 2026. The exhibition celebrates nearly a century of artisanal hat-making tradition, showcasing the creative process, materials, and crafts behind one of France's most iconic millinery houses. Visitors can explore the transformation of wood, felt, ribbons, and veils, and learn about the work of block makers, hatters, dressmakers, and straw-sewing specialists. The display includes berets, boaters, fedoras, picture hats, and fascinators, alongside creations for major fashion houses and collaborations with young designers. The show also examines the hat's role in cinema and visual culture. Maison Michel is part of le19M, a CHANEL-initiated space designed by Rudy Ricciotti that houses ateliers and cultural activities. The exhibition is complemented by workshops and meetings. Additionally, the 89th edition of Glocal Design Magazine, titled 'Visionarias del espacio,' features 15 women architects and interior designers, with covers by Prince Láuder and Jimena Estíbaliz.
