Maison Bosi Opens on Rome's Via Margutta with Postwar Art
On May 4, 2022, Maison Bosi, a new gallery from the historic Galleria Bosi, opened at Via Margutta 28-29 in Rome. The street once housed Fellini, de Chirico, Picasso, and Canova's studio. Gallerist Fabrizio Bosi, a third-generation dealer, launched the space to give proper context to significant works and artists. The opening exhibition features postwar Italian masters from the Scuola di Piazza del Popolo—Tano Festa, Mario Schifano, Giosetta Fioroni—alongside Accardi, Botero, Viale, Tozzi, Boetti, Bonalumi, and Schifano's tribute to the Futurists. Starting June 9, the gallery will host works by a Lebanese artist and hold group shows, presentations, and private events. The dual-room layout is furnished with Baxter sofas and tables. Bosi reported strong sales in the first three days and noted renewed interest in undervalued artists like Giosetta Fioroni and Salvatore Emblema. A Santomaso from 1959, previously in the Farnesina collection, is among the works on view. The original Galleria Bosi, founded in 2001, continues to deal in antique, modern, and contemporary art, while Maison Bosi focuses on historicized contemporary artists.
