Mains d’avenir 2025: Two-Phase Free Event at Chanel's 19M in Paris
The fourth edition of 'Mains d’avenir' at the Galerie du 19M in Paris will run from June 5 to July 19, 2025, featuring a new two-phase format. On June 5-7, the event offers workshops, demonstrations, and roundtables with artisans from the 12 Maisons housed at the 19M, including broderie, bottier, chapelier, and fleuriste. From June 10 to July 19, an immersive free exhibition continues. Founded by Chanel in 2021, the 19M is dedicated to preserving and transmitting French luxury craftsmanship. The event targets young people seeking orientation and adults considering career changes into artisanal trades. HR teams from the 19M and representatives from specialized schools like École Boulle and Compagnons du devoir will provide guidance. Arnaud Tison, director of métiers & projets RH at the 19M, noted that families often have biases against short training programs, but artisanal crafts have regained prestige and are part of a national strategy. A new national brevet des métiers d’art, equivalent to a professional baccalaureate, will be available from September 2025 after the third year, allowing early workshop immersion. The event is free upon reservation at the Galerie du 19M, 2 place Skanderbeg, Paris 19.
