Maicol & Mirco's VR Theatre Show Blends Comics and Performance

Italian cartoonist Michael Rocchetti, known as Maicol & Mirco, has premiered a virtual reality theatre piece titled 'La storia che non ho mai disegnato' at Casa del Teatro Ragazzi e Giovani in Turin on October 28, 2023. The work combines comics, theatre, and VR technology, created in collaboration with Omar Rashid of VR company Gold. The 3DOF experience uses animations by Michele Bernardi and 360-degree footage. A companion publication serves as an illustrated script. The show will travel to Teatro Argot Studio in Rome (February 2-4, 2024), Palazzo del Turismo in Riccione (February 25), and return to Turin (April 17-22). Rocchetti also announced a special project for Lucca Comics starting November 1, 2023: an anthology volume about Palestine, with proceeds going to Gaza relief. The project is co-produced by Casa del Teatro Ragazzi e Giovani, Infinito srl, and Argot Produzioni.
