Maicol & Mirco's 'Il papà di Dio' comic adapted for stage in Serra de' Conti

The comic novel 'Il papà di Dio' by Maicol & Mirco has been adapted into a theatrical performance, premiering in Serra de' Conti, Ancona province, as part of Sabrina Maggiori's new project 'Ospite'. Directed by Andrea Fazzini of the Macerata-based Teatro Rebis company, the production explores the relationship between comics and theater, building on their 2016 staging of the duo's 'Scarabocchi' strips. The narrative follows God's father, a precise creator, and his son God, who embraces imperfection and dialogues with a female Satan. Actor Andrea Filipponi performs with objects by set designer Frediano Brandetti, with sound by Lili Refrain and philosophical consultation by Rubina Giorgi. The work delves into themes of creation, good and evil, and the human condition, referencing Gino De Dominicis. Historian Alessio Trabacchini notes the deep connection between comics and theater, while Michael Rocchetti highlights the 'third dimension of comics'—time—brought to life on stage.
