Mahmoud Alhaj's 'Control Anatomy' Opens at Zawyeh Gallery
On July 30, 2024, Zawyeh Gallery in Ramallah will unveil 'Control Anatomy,' a solo exhibition by Mahmoud Alhaj, a Palestinian artist. Curated by Rana Anani, the exhibition explores themes of colonial violence and the oppression of Palestinian lands, with a focus on the genocide occurring in Gaza. Born in Gaza in 1990, Alhaj employs digital media to analyze portrayals of human rights violations, using tools such as Google Maps. Featured projects include 'Violence 24/7,' '402 of Gray,' and 'Fragile.' Since 2017, Alhaj has been an art educator and has showcased his work in Palestine, Europe, and the US. His film 'The Right to See' was presented at the 35th Festival Les Instants Video in 2022.
