Magnum photographers' WWII images on view in Gorizia

Palazzo Attems-Petzenstein in Gorizia presents 'Back to Peace? La guerra vista dai grandi fotografi Magnum', an exhibition of 200 photographs, video installations, and soundscapes documenting World War II and its aftermath. Curated by Andrea Holzherr and Marco Minuz, the show features iconic works by Robert Capa, Henri Cartier-Bresson, David Seymour, Eve Arnold, Eric Hartmann, René Burri, Thomas Hoepker, George Rodger, Wayne Miller, and Werner Bischof. The first section includes Capa's D-Day landing images (1944–45) and Rodger's photographs of Bergen-Belsen survivors. Miller's Hiroshima documentation and Cartier-Bresson's 'Le Retour' series on liberated French prisoners are also highlighted. The second section examines postwar consequences through Bischof's and Seymour's images of European children and families. The exhibition concludes with a section on the Berlin Wall. It runs until May 3, 2026, at Palazzo Attems-Petzenstein.
