Magliano FW23: Working-Class Homage at Milan Men's Fashion Week

Luca Magliano presented his Fall/Winter 2023 collection during Milan Men's Fashion Week 23/24 in SouPra, the 'south of Prada' district. The show featured an installation of stacked chairs forming an unstable wall, which also served as seating for guests. Backstage documentation by Eric Scaggiante captured the theatrical pre-show atmosphere. Models embodied characters inspired by moodboards of Kurt Cobain, Gianna Nannini, Julia Roberts, and John F. Kennedy Jr., with a soundtrack by Pan Daijing. Magliano, born in Bologna in 1987, studied at Libera Università delle Arti and gained early experience at Alessandro Dell'Acqua, later winning Vogue's Who's On Next award. The collection emphasizes layering and mixing fabrics—wool jersey, tulle, nylon crêpe, fleece, denim—with knitwear remaining central. It incorporates repurposed military blankets turned into robes, reconditioned cashmere sweaters, and Flower Down quilting filled with flowers from Minardi Piume. A collaboration with safety footwear brand U-power underscores the working-class tribute. The show was produced by Alessia Caliendo.
