Magazzino Italian Art Opens Two Shows on Arte Povera and Italian Contemporary Art
During Armory Week, Magazzino Italian Art in Cold Spring, New York, introduced a preview of 'Arte Povera from The Olnick Spanu Collection.' This exhibition features works from 12 artists, including Giovanni Anselmo and Alighiero Boetti. The museum, designed by Spanish architect Miguel Garcia Quismondo, is surrounded by picturesque gardens blanketed in snow. Collector Giorgio Spanu expressed that the exhibit reveals a common thread among the diverse artists, which boosts the movement's international resonance. Additionally, the Garrison Art Center, collaborating with Magazzino, opened 'Remo Salvadori, Marco Bagnoli, Domenico Bianchi' at its Riverside galleries, marking their first partnership. Spanu, who also directs Casa Italiana Zerilli Marimò, has an upcoming show featuring Alessandro Piangiamore on May 1. The Arte Povera exhibit runs until January 21, 2019, while the Garrison show ends on April 8, 2018.
