Mag Tips: Reading Room collaborates with Artribune for Instagram magazine stories

Reading Room, a 35-square-meter bookstore-gallery near Fondazione Prada in Milan, has partnered with Artribune to present independent magazines on its Instagram stories. The collaboration, called Mag Tips, features flash presentations of titles like Victory Journal (California), Broccoli Magazine (Portland), Swim Magazine (US), Monument Magazine (Netherlands), and Emulsion Magazine (London). Francesca Spiller, founder of Reading Room and former staff at Fondazione Forma per la Fotografia in Milan and CAMERA in Turin, curates the series. Spiller explains that the magazine publishing world is experiencing an exciting moment driven by the crisis of mainstream media and new digital dynamics, turning magazines into artistic platforms. Reading Room currently hosts nearly 300 titles covering architecture, cinema, design, erotica, fashion, travel, photography, art, cuisine, graphics, illustration, literature, music, society, and sports. Due to Italian government restrictions to contain the virus, the physical store is closed and no delivery service is offered; customers can email to reserve magazines for later shipment. The initiative aims to keep the public engaged with independent publishing during lockdown.
